Innovative Gx Laboratories Infectious Disease
(Wound and Skin Infection)

Innovative Gx Laboratories offer molecular diagnostics testing for the detection of Wound Pathogens in open skin and deep tissue infections. Our wound test identifies all bacterial, viral, and fungal pathogens responsible for these common infections through a simple E-swab specimen from a patient.

There are many differences in laboratory diagnostic testing methods used for pathogen identification. These infectious disease tests include conventional culture-based techniques, point-of-care serological methods, and precision molecular-based testing. Molecular PCR based testing offers many advantages over these other methods of detection such as accuracy, inclusion of antibiotic resistance, and timing of test results.

Wound pathogen testing is frequently inaccurate, incomplete, and cannot identify any antibiotic resistance, producing an ineffective report for physicians that may lead to continuing infections in wound healing patients.

This testing process often leads to a trial-and-error approach to treating wound infections, wasting valuable treatment time for patients, contributing to antibiotic resistance, and allowing persistent infections to spread from their original site.

Innovative Gx Laboratories uses PCR/RT PCR techniques to identify 24 pathogens and 12 antibiotic resistant genes (more than any other testing program) for the greatest testing coverage and 95%+ accuracy.

An infected wound is an opening that often results in increasing pain and swelling and prevents a wound from healing. A non-healing wound often results in increasing pain and can lead to cellulitis, osteomyelitis, and sepsis.

Correct identification of the pathogens in an infected wound is essential for the selection of the appropriate treatment and proper healing. Innovative Gx Laboratories offers their Wound Pathogen test to identify a wide range of pathogens using molecular PCR/ RT PCR technology to detect the smallest amounts of pathogens. Our Wound Pathogen test also identifies antibiotic resistance present in the pathogens as well to help with precision treatment.

The Innovative Gx Wound Pathogen test does not rely on less sensitive culturing techniques and days of waiting for laboratory results. We test by using PCR/ RT PCR molecular probes to detect and identify a large panel of pathogens and antibiotic resistance with accuracy and results within 24-48 hours from receipt to our laboratories.

Test your patient samples for infectious disease with cutting edge precision molecular tools.
